Prof Tony Ryan

Professor Tony Ryan OBE, is a multi-award-winning polymer chemist, whose
glittering research career has covered sustainable synthesis, structure, processing, and applications of polymers using advanced analytical and measurement techniques. He is Professor of Physical Chemistry at the University of Sheffield, where he is the director of Project Sunshine, an interdisciplinary project working towards food and energy sustainability. As with his brilliant RI Christmas lectures, Smart Stuff, at Science Live he will talk about that ubiquitous molecular miracle and environmental hazard: plastic.
